Looking for an SEO company in Nepal? Read this first.

An SEO company in Nepal will quote you anywhere from NPR 8,000 to over NPR 150,000 a month, depending on which of four kinds of provider you are talking to: freelancers (NPR 8,000–15,000), independent consultants (NPR 20,000–80,000), digital agencies (published packages of NPR 29,000–88,000), or established founder-led practices (NPR 150,000+). The reliable way to choose between them is not a "top 10" list — it is asking who will personally do your work, whether you keep ownership of your own accounts, and whether they can name your likely bottleneck before you pay.

I should also be upfront: I am not a company. I am an independent SEO consultant in Bhaktapur, so I have an obvious interest in how you answer this question. The rate bands and the four questions below are useful whichever way you go — including when the answer is not me.

Four kinds of SEO provider
in Nepal

Quotes in this market vary by more than fifteen times for work described in almost identical language. That is because these are four genuinely different businesses.

1. Full-service digital agencies

These are the businesses that come up when you search for an SEO agency in Nepal. They sell SEO alongside web development, paid ads, social media and design, usually as packaged tiers. Published rates run from roughly NPR 29,000 to 88,000 a month.

What you get is coordination and continuity. One contract covers several channels, and staff turnover does not stop your project. What you trade is proximity: the senior person in the pitch is rarely the person doing your work, and delivery is templated because templates are what make agency economics function. For a business with conventional requirements that is a reasonable trade. For an unusual technical problem it often is not, because the template has no slot for it.

2. Web development shops with SEO attached

Many Nepali software and web companies list SEO among their services because clients ask for it, not because it is a core discipline. The work is frequently handled by a junior member of the team between development tasks, and it tends to stop at meta tags and a sitemap.

This is not automatically bad value — if they built your site, they can implement technical fixes faster than anyone else. But you should establish whether SEO is a practice there or a checkbox. Ask who on the team does it full time. If the answer is nobody, treat the SEO line as implementation capacity rather than strategy.

3. Independent consultants

One experienced practitioner working directly with a small number of clients, typically NPR 20,000 to 80,000 a month, with the largest founder-led practices starting around NPR 150,000 and asking for three to six month minimums.

You get senior attention on your actual problem and a real diagnosis. You give up capacity and, honestly, continuity — one person can be ill or take other work. Ask directly what happens to your project if they become unavailable, and treat a vague answer as the answer.

4. Freelancers and marketplace providers

The NPR 8,000 to 15,000 band, plus offshore marketplace listings. This range contains both genuinely capable people who prefer working alone and people learning on your site, and price will not tell you which you have found.

The distinguishing signal is diagnostic ability. Someone who can explain why they are recommending something in terms of your business is worth more than someone quoting best practice at you, regardless of what either charges.

What SEO actually
costs in Nepal

Published rates from across the market, so you can judge a quote before you take the call. My own pricing is in here and is not the cheapest option listed.

Monthly SEO rates by provider type in Nepal, 2026
Provider type Typical monthly rate Best suited to Main risk
Freelancer / marketplace NPR 8,000–15,000 Very small sites, single specific task No time in budget for diagnosis
Independent consultant NPR 20,000–80,000 Specific technical or content constraint Limited capacity and continuity
Digital agency NPR 29,000–88,000 Multi-channel marketing under one contract Templated work, junior delivery
Established founder-led practice NPR 150,000+ Large or complex sites with real scale Long minimum commitments

The agency band is not an estimate. As of August 2026, Softbenz publishes SEO packages at NPR 34,000, 56,000 and 88,000 a month, and Abstract Infosys publishes NPR 29,000, 50,000 and 75,000. I have no relationship with either; they are linked so you can check the numbers yourself. If a quote lands far outside these bands, ask what the difference is buying.

The floor below which SEO cannot work

Around NPR 10,000 a month, the arithmetic stops permitting real work. At Nepali rates that buys a handful of hours, and a handful of hours goes on producing something that resembles a deliverable — a report, a few posts, some directory submissions. It cannot cover the diagnostic work that determines whether any of that is the right thing to do. If your quote sits at this level, you are buying the appearance of SEO, and the usual cost is a lost year rather than the money.

What actually drives a legitimate quote up

Site size and template count, because a 5,000-URL catalogue is a fundamentally different job from a 12-page brochure site. Whether you need multiple markets or languages. Whether there is existing damage to undo. Whether content is being produced or only optimised. And how contested your keywords are — most commercial Nepali SEO terms sit at a keyword difficulty of 0 to 10, so if a provider is pricing your local service business as though it were competing nationally in India, ask what they are seeing that justifies it.

How to tell a competent
provider from a confident one

Four questions that separate providers

  1. Who specifically will do the work, and can I speak to them before signing? If this is evasive, you are buying an account manager and your work is going to someone you have not assessed.
  2. What is the first thing you would look at on my site, and why? A competent provider names a specific likely constraint after a few minutes of looking. A weak one describes their onboarding process. This single question is the most reliable filter available to you.
  3. Will I own the Search Console, Analytics and Business Profile accounts? This should never be negotiable. A provider who holds your properties makes leaving cost you your entire measurement history, and that is usually the intention.
  4. What would make you tell me SEO is the wrong investment right now? Anyone who cannot answer has never declined work, which tells you how their recommendations are generated.

Warning signs specific to this market

Guaranteed rankings. Not deliverable. Where honoured, it is by targeting terms so obscure that ranking for them means nothing commercially.

Backlink packages sold by volume. "500 high-DA backlinks" describes a footprint Google recognises and discounts. I have seen this cause more lasting harm to Nepali sites than any other single practice, and the cleanup costs more than the links did.

"Top 10 SEO companies in Nepal" listicles. Check who published it. It is nearly always either a provider ranking itself first or a directory selling placement. Neither is an assessment.

Reading the map pack. When you search for an SEO company in Nepal, the first thing above the rankings is usually a map with three Business Profiles. Those placements are driven by proximity, profile completeness and reviews — useful for building a list of who exists, but not an assessment of anyone's work. Treat the map as a phone book, not a shortlist.

Unverifiable statistics. Claims like "400+ projects" and "300+ happy clients" appear across this market with nothing behind them. I removed my own equivalent numbers from this site for that reason. Ask what a figure is counting and how you could check it.

Reporting that never mentions enquiries. If twelve months of reports show rankings improving and your phone has not, the targeting is wrong and someone should have said so in month two.

The longer version of this framework, including how the market is structured, is in SEO companies in Nepal: how to evaluate and choose one.

When you should hire
a company instead of me

I would rather lose the enquiry than take work I am the wrong choice for, so here is the straightforward version.

Hire an agency or SEO company if

  • You need SEO plus paid ads plus social plus design coordinated, and would rather hold one contract than four.
  • You need substantial content volume produced monthly — a content pipeline does that more cheaply than I can.
  • Your organisation requires a vendor with formal contracts, invoicing structure and named cover arrangements.
  • You want people physically in your office regularly. I work remotely with periodic in-person sessions in the Kathmandu Valley.

Work with an independent consultant if

  • Your site does not rank and nobody has satisfactorily explained why.
  • You have been through a provider already and are not sure whether the work was real.
  • You have a developer and need a specification, not an implementation team.
  • You want the person doing the work to be the person you brief.
  • You need a specific problem solved — a migration, an indexation failure, a recovery — rather than an ongoing retainer.

What I offer, plainly

Published pricing at NPR 20,000, 45,000 and 80,000 a month. Month-to-month, because a long lock-in protects me from the consequences of underperforming. Written scope with a named metric before anything starts. Every account under your ownership. And a free opportunity review first, which is a fit-and-priority conversation rather than a sales call — if the honest answer is that you do not need a retainer, I will say so and quote you a one-off SEO audit instead.

Common questions

There is no single best SEO company in Nepal, and any page claiming to rank them is almost always either selling placement or promoting itself. What exists is a better or worse fit for your situation. A large agency suits a business that needs SEO alongside paid ads, social and design under one contract. An independent consultant suits a business with a specific technical or content problem that needs senior attention. The useful question is not who is best overall, but who will personally do your work and whether they can explain your bottleneck before you pay them.

The market splits into roughly four bands. Freelancers and very small providers quote NPR 8,000 to 15,000 a month. Independent consultants and small studios sit around NPR 20,000 to 80,000. Established digital agencies publish packages from about NPR 29,000 to 88,000. The largest founder-led practices start at NPR 150,000 with three to six month minimums. Below roughly NPR 10,000 a month there is not enough time in the budget for diagnostic work, so what you receive is output rather than strategy.

It depends on whether your constraint is capacity or expertise. If you need several marketing channels coordinated and would rather manage one relationship, an agency is genuinely more efficient. If your problem is that nobody has correctly diagnosed why your site does not rank, an independent consultant gives you senior attention directly and is usually cheaper for the same seniority. The trade you make with an independent is capacity and continuity; the trade you make with an agency is proximity to the person actually doing the work.

Ask four questions. Who specifically will do the work, and can you speak to them before signing? What is the first thing they would examine on your site, and why — a competent provider names a likely constraint, a weak one describes their process. Will you own the Search Console, Analytics and Google Business Profile accounts? And what would make them tell you SEO is the wrong investment right now? Evasion on the third question is the most serious warning sign, because a provider holding your accounts makes leaving expensive.

Some advertise it, and it is not a promise anyone can keep. Google's ranking systems weigh a very large number of signals that no provider controls. Where a guarantee is technically honoured, it is usually by targeting keywords so obscure that ranking for them produces no business — "best SEO company in Kathmandu for handmade felt slippers" will rank because nothing competes for it. Treat a ranking guarantee as information about the provider rather than about your prospects.

At minimum: a technical audit covering crawlability, indexation and Core Web Vitals; keyword research grounded in what Nepali buyers actually type rather than a tool export; on-page work on your existing pages before new ones are commissioned; Google Business Profile optimisation if you serve customers locally; and monthly reporting that runs on your own accounts. Be wary of packages defined mainly by output volume — a fixed number of blog posts and directory submissions per month is a production schedule, not a strategy.

Often, and it is common in Nepal. The usual damage is a purchased backlink profile, thin duplicated pages produced to fill a content quota, or a migration that lost its redirects. What matters is that diagnosis comes first: a site suppressed by a toxic link profile and a site that simply never had the fundamentals look identical from the outside and require completely different remedies. Anyone proposing a disavow file before establishing which of the two you have is guessing.

Frequently not, at least not on retainer. Many businesses with in-house development capability need a diagnosis and a prioritised list specific enough to implement, not an ongoing monthly relationship. A fixed-scope audit is usually the better purchase in that situation — your developer executes, and you pay once rather than indefinitely.

Most providers in Nepal quote somewhere between two and eight months, and the honest answer is that it depends on what is broken. Technical fixes on a site Google already trusts can show movement in weeks; building visibility for a new site is a six-to-twelve-month project. Most commercial Nepali keywords are low-competition by international standards, which shortens the road. Be more suspicious of a provider promising results in weeks than of one asking for months — but insist on leading indicators within the first ninety days: indexation, impressions and ranking movement, not silence until the retainer has run out.

you need?
